NOUN Will Cover Every Nigerian Community – VC
The Vice Chancellor, National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN), Prof Abdalla Uba Adamu, has said that the institution will cover every nooks and crannies of the country with its centres.
According to Adamu, the institution has worked out free tuition fee for all inmates to encourage others. Speaking at the matriculation ceremony of 21 students of NOUN that were matriculated at the Kaduna Prison, the vice chancellor said the university is happy with the performance of the inmates and the good characters they are demonstrating.
It was gathered that 90 per cent of the inmates that were matriculated are members of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria. NOUN VC, Adamu said further that they would follow legal process to see to the freedom of inmates that are their students and have shown good characters, devotion to studies and intellect.
Some of the inmates complained about the prison congestion, which is an impediment to their studies.
