The just concluded examination retreat which held in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state was a successful one as Principal Officers, Deans and Directors of the university were able to brain storm and discuss on how to make upcoming examinations smooth sailing and hitch free.
The Centre Director, Uyo Study Centre, Prof. Charity Okonkwo, gave the welcome address at the beginning of the retreat as it held within her area of jurisdiction.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Abdalla Uba Adamu, who was also present emphasized on the importance of the retreat while he gave his opening remarks.
Amongst other Principal Officers present was the DVC, Administration, Prof. Victor Oluwole Adedipe, who made his last public outing at the retreat. His tenure ends in March 2019.
The Director, Exams & Assessment, Prof. Godwin Akper, made his presentation at the exams retreat alongside, Deputy Registrar, SERVICOM, Mrs. Eunice Riki, who did same. Mrs. Martha Oruku, a lecturer of the university, also her report as an invigilator.
Deans and Centre Directors made observations and contributions during the course of the retreat.
The university Registrar, Mr. Felix Edoka during his vote of thanks, announced the availability of adhoc positions for academic staff with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the forthcoming elections.
Staff and students of Uyo Study Centre also held an interactive session with the Vice-Chancellor after the retreat.
The Deputy Director, Uyo Study Centre, Mrs. Mary Omotayo, presented a souvenir to the VC on behalf of staff and students of the study centre
